How to Vote for Individual Block Producers

To vote with your Anchor desktop wallet, you will first need to have tokens staked. In order to stake tokens, you can follow this guide. If you’ve already done this, then your first step will be to navigate to the Governance section using the menu on the left-hand side of your wallet’s home screen.

In the Governance section, you will see a full list of block producers. In order to quickly find the ones you want, we suggest using the search box in the top right corner. Once you find the block producer you would like to vote for, click the grey box next to their name. It will turn into a blue check mark

You can choose anywhere from 1 to 30 block producers you would like to vote for. Once you’re done, select the green Submit Vote(s) button on the right-hand side of the screen.

Anchor will then show you the list of block producers that you’ve chosen to vote for, and ask you to confirm your vote. If the list looks right to you, simply click the Submit Votes button in the bottom right-hand corner.

Congratulations, you’ve voted!

How to Vote Using A Proxy

To vote by proxy* with your Anchor desktop wallet, you will first need to have tokens staked. In order to stake tokens, you can follow this guide. If you’ve already done this, then your first step will be to navigate to the Governance section using the menu on the left-hand side of your wallet’s home screen.

*A proxy is similar to a voting guide. If you would like to use your full voting power on an Antelope blockchain but would rather not research 30+ block producers individually, you can choose a proxy that you trust to automatically follow their voting recommendations instead.

For instance, Greymass provides a proxy that’s designed to support block producers who add the most value to the network, often in under-appreciated areas. Our proxy includes block producers like:

  • EOS Authority for their work on explorers, infrastructure, and tooling.

  • EOS Amsterdam for their constant helping hand within the developer community, fundamental tooling, and business efforts to promote the technology.

  • CryptoLions for their efforts on testnets, tooling, and other fundamental chain development.

In the Governance section, you have two options:

  1. You can browse all available proxies by selecting the Proxies tab at the top of the screen.

For more information on each proxy, you can click the purple magnifying glass button to the right of each proxy name.

If you find one you would like to vote for, you can click the grey checkbox to the left of their name to select them as your proxy.

  1. Alternatively, if you already know which proxy you would like to vote for, you can choose the blue Set Voter Proxy button from the left side of the main Governance screen. You will then be prompted to type in the name of the proxy you would like to use.

Once you’ve selected a proxy either by checkbox or by typing in the name, you will be asked to confirm your selection. Select the green Confirm button to finish configuring your proxy.

Congratulations, you’ve voted!
